The data recorded includes the number of runners in the race, the age and gender, the Official Rating, the SP, where in the betting the horse featured (Fav, 3rd fav, co-fav etc), details of whether the horse was a Course or Distance winner in the past, the draw, the trainer and the jockey of the winning horse.
With all this information, it is quite possible to see clear “trends” that enable you to hone in on the winners and disregard the losers. It is a mine of information which often provides valuable nuggets which one might otherwise overlook. It is a valuable weapon in your armoury as you battle to beat the bookie.
For example, winning trainer/jockey combinations, trainer success (or lack of) in these top-class handicaps that will enable you to find big priced winners when everyone else is looking at the short-priced favourites. The book also contains some very sound advice on betting and staking.
